4 Minutes to Save the World

While I haven't "actively" listened to the song (meaning that maybe it has been on in the car but I haven't really made a point of paying attention to the lyrics), I have the opening/repeated chord progression from JT and Madonna's "4 Minutes to Save the World" in my head and it won't go away.

Here are my questions:

Why do they have just four minutes to save the world?
Why are JT and Madonna saving our world? (Or is it a collective "we"?)

Anyone?

1. I think the "Four Minutes" refers to the length of the song -- they only have the length of the song to "save the world."

2. I can't believe you had to ask this. JT and Madonna! You know that "music makes the people come together" -- even "all the bourgeoisie and the rebels." You need to get ready to "rock your body" because JT and Madonna are bringing "sexy back" and THE WORLD WILL BE SAVED!

Tim: 1st let me say, your wit is hilarious! I've also read your blog a few times, but haven't commented yet. Maybe one day...

Amy: I have no idea. I've heard OF the song, but I'm not sure I've heard the song. Make sense? Oh, yeah. Is it poor blog etiquette to respond to someone else's comment?? I wish not to offend. (At least without knowing it...LOL)

Tim: Of course! Now I feel silly for asking. :) But here's my question now: Have they, in fact, SAVED the world in those four minutes? Or is it a work in progress?

Jen: I don't know if you can be saved with the rest of the world if you haven't heard the song. You need to try to download it just in case. :)

Kristy: No, it's not poor etiquette. Think of it as a conversation, I guess.

Every time the song is played, the four minutes start over -- like that countdown clock on the first few seasons of Lost.

That makes me feel better. I was really concerned about the pressure JT and Madonna might be feeling if they really had just four minutes to save the world. Good to know they have many opportunities.

And the song is STILL in my head. But just the parts I can remember: the chords, and JT's occasional "Just 4 minutes to save the world!"
